AC Question

Out of.my realm here. We are currently in New Mexico. Needless to say, we are using the AC which we have not used a lot in the Pacific Northwest.

I have read the AC manual and it states when the desired temperature has been reached, the fan will continue to blow but the compressor turns off. Once the desired temp has been reached, the air conditioner shuts off completely. The thermostat is set on AUTO.

If anyone knows, which would be correct, the fan continuing to run or a complete shutoff?

Thanks.

Mine (2016 38FDDS) shuts down (no fan) when desired temp is reached.

Change the setting from (Auto) to (HI) or (LOW) that'll keep the fan running while the compressor cycles.

My Cool Cat shuts down the compressor just a few seconds before the fan shuts off. I think this is an energy efficiency programming to use up the cold in the coil that you have already paid for when the compressor was running. When starting the fan also runs for a few seconds before the compressor starts up.
