Adding Electrical Outelet (120V) to rear compartment

I have a 2014 29QBH. I was looking to add an electrical outlet to the rear compartment on the passengers side. I know that had I got the fridge option that it would have been there.

Has anyone done this and how easy would it be to tap power off an existing plug, run some romex and install the outlet?

I am looking for some feedback/thoughts on anyone who may have already done this.

You can send a note to Jayco asking for the 12 and 110V diagrams for your model. From there you can see if there's any existing wires in the area.

Good luck with getting a diagram from Jayco. If the unit is under warranty, they won't supply you with anything!

They did for me, got the 12v, 110v and some structural diagrams when the camper was 2 months old.

I've had to add an outside weatherproof outlet to a couple of campers I've owned. As long as you have access inside your cabinets to run your wires, it shouldn't be a problem. Just be careful not to overload the circuit to which you've added the extra outlet.

I have added several over the years. Just find a ac wire and tap into it. You may need to add a junction box if the splice is not in one.

My 264BH has the factory outlet (without the fridge) in the rear compartment above the door and slightly toward the front of the trailer, on the exterior wall. Found it by chance while almost laying in the compartment checking everything over. Could yours be there too?
