Atwood Water Heater Install Question...

I am installing a replacement water heater this weekend. The old tank had male connections on it and the water lines have female connectors. It hooked up the same as a faucet and garden hose would.

The new tank has the connections in the photo (female). I guess I will need to get some sort of adapter so the water lines will screw on. Can someone let me know what this would be called and where I can get them?

The new water heater is the same model as the old one... not sure why they changed the design.

Looks like a threaded 1/2 inch nipple will put you back to the old existing pipes.

Thanks. I wasn't sure if a needed a coupler, nipple or left-handed smoke shifter.

I suppose it's 1/2"... doesn't really say in the manual, but the water lines are 1/2" I think.
