Awning Light Switch Question

We just recently purchased a Jayco 325bhqs. We really enjoy the camper. We are on our first trip now trying to iron out a few kinks. One question I have on the main control panel there are 3 exterior light switches one is the security light, one is the awning and front light, the third looks like a temporary light swith that doesn't stay on. I haven't figured out what it does We have a second set of led lights under the other awning that don't seem to work. Or us there a switch I am missing? Thanks for your help.

Congratulations on the new Jayco and welcome to the JOF.

Hopefully there will be a member that has the same model trailer that can help. Our switches are not at all like yours... sorry.

Typically a rocker switch that is "momentary" (it won't stay in one position when flipped) has a twin somewhere else in the trailer. For example if your trailer has 2 doors, you could have a switch inside each door that operates the same circuit. The momentary nature of the switch allows either switch to change the state of the circuit whatever it is. So if the light is on and you want to turn it off, you can hit either switch and it will turn the light off.

I've heard of switches like this for the "scare light" above the rear street-side corner of the trailer. With this setup, you can activate that light from your command center inside the trailer OR from the storage compartment nearest that rear corner.

I would look for the switch's twin somewhere else in the trailer, but I'm just guessing.

My one awning light switch is like that too. It also is controlled by the remote control.

The remote control would be the "other" switch in my scenario.

Yup.

But what is odd is the other awning light is on a regular switch and the remote.

The remote is an option right? Perhaps that's just the way it got added? Just guessing here....

I figured the switch out from a similar camper. It is a switch you hold in so that awning light gets brighter. Mine just doesn't work. The nearest dealer is 2 hours away.

A built in dimmer? Perhaps someone is listening!
