awning motor issues

A little tip to save some money. My Carefree Travel'r awning motor stopped working. When I determined it was the motor, a replacement motor waqs over 200 dollars. The part number on the motor housing cross referenced to a drivers side window motor for a 1996 Buick Regal 2 door coupe. Cost was just over 40 dollars the local auto parts store. It took just under an hour to replace and the directions to due so are on the Carefree website in the troubleshooting and repair pdf. GM part number
MOTOR - 1996 Buick Regal (12362503)

+1! That's awesome!

A little like the marine world. Parts for boat engines cost a mint until you figure out its a 3.0L GM motor....

Wonderful little motors. A good friend found power window motor was a near perfect replacement for the motor that drove his electric steps on his MH. Again, about $40.

Don't ever own an airplane! Never forget the first time I went to replace a battery. Went down to a local battery shop and cross referenced one for about $100. Felt like I had hit the jackpot. Best feeling is when you buy. Second best feeling is when you get it sold!
