Awning spring tension

I put new fabric on my dometic power awning and it doesn't roll in as fast as it used to. I'm thinking I need more tension on the internal spring. What's the best way to go about doing that? TIA

I have a Carefree of Colorado power awning, I don't believe it has any spring load at all, in fact you can roll past the full extension and it will start rolling in again (winding topside).

It may be that your awning fabric is heavier than before
