Can anyone recommend a clamp meter that measures ...

... DC current and AC In-Rush?

Fluke is the one I would choose, but I don't need that high of quality.

(I'm not going to spend in the $20 range either, or you get junk coming in ... you know)

Check out Fieldpiece or UEI Either one is a good meter, I am in the HVAC business and we have used both.

A must for when on the road and you have electric issues>

Happy camping!

I got mine from SEARS... $60 measures both AC and DC AMPS up to 400AMPS... Clamp on- I'll have to look up the number to get the exact one. They also make one that looks just like it but doesn't measure DC amps...
Looks like it is the SEARS 82369 model

I used mine alot measuring DC currents setting up my battery bank cable lengths etc...

I got my from EXTECH -- it's model MA220: a 400A AC/DC Clamp Meter. http://www.extech.com/instruments/pr...d=26&prodid=83

It goes for about $110 via Amazon or other sites.

I have the same one Roy has from Sears. It does not do inrush, but it has been very useful in doing basic current measurements in the RV. I have a Fluke for when I need high accuracy, but didnt want to pay the dollars for a DC Fluke...
