Are these polarity sensitive? I don't like having one panel facing the ceiling while the other panel is oriented properly.

Most fixtures have the capability to remove the socket and rotate 180 degrees - or reverse the wires in the socket - and finally....if both sockets connect to the source wire, you could simply re-splice the connection to the source power wire.

Keep us posted on your assessment.

Doug
We were on the road for 10 days (Oregon and Washington coast!) and got home to these bulbs in the mailbox. Stuck them in last evening, not quite dark yet, and initial reaction was that they are whiter than existing bulbs but not as bright. Won't be using them in fixtures where one might want to sit and read, but will put them in the main ceiling lights. Won't be ordering any more of these so still looking for good LED replacements.

I realize LEDs have varying output, but I can't imagine how a 5-24 LED replacement can compare to the 921 bulb. The Flat Panels I evaluated with a light meter / provided a link to earlier in the thread have 48 LEDs - and the output was still less foot candles / lux than the 921 bulb.

I just put this on another post, but here it is. Also, if you click on my solar album (bulb order info is there) I have a base conversion that you can do to the inexpensive bulbs and make them SOFT WHITE (3500 Kelvin, and 300Lumens) They will be Soft White and as bright or a little brighter than the regular 921 bulbs. I have 4 so far in the TT and will be ordering a few more in the near future. I believe there are 66 LEDs on each bulb. The LED's do not exceed 90 degrees, so heat will not be an issue, unless they are not designed properly. Then that is another issue. The wife did not notice any difference between the 66 LED bulbs and the 921 bulbs. That is how close they are in output/color. The cost is a little more, but DW is happy and that makes me happy.

Cheap $1.49 LED direct 921 Replacements

I have a bunch of the Chinese import/eBay variety installed in my 184bh, so far the biggest issue has been an iffy socket connection from the little pigtail connectors.... But light output and brightness has been great along with substantial energy savings.

I may either add some solder/tin to the leads on the "bulb" leads or add some copper paint from a rear defroster repair kit, seems like the thin wire on the connector is making iffy contact at best. Not a bad upgrade for $50 even with some tinkering time required.

OK, trying a couple of others....just ordered two of these.

There are a couple of fixtures in our 5er that we feel we need bright lights (over the sink and over the table and a couple of reading lights) otherwise dimmer mood lighting would be fine. That's what I used the last purchase experiment on. Will report back in a few weeks.

Thanks for the info. I'll be looking forward to seeing what you think of these options.

Best regards,
Doug

Just put these two in, over the kitchen sink where my wife wanted bright light. She was very happy with what they put out. I'm dragging the RV to town and back in a few days so want to see how they ride. Also, I'm wanting to take a photo when dark of the three bulb types in there, the first two LEDs we got (dimmer) the original bulbs and these. Will post if it turns out being worthwhile.
So far though, a winner. The package says 260-280 lumens, and compares the original bulbs as being 21 watt to these at 2.94 watts. Is nice that they do swivel so can be oriented as needed.

Thanks for the update.
They're a little pricey, but at least they're an option for the areas where equally bright is a necessity.
Looking forward to any pictures you get. It will also be nice to know how well they hold in the fixtures during transport.

Best regards,
Doug

OK, got a photo of the three bulb types in the RV. I've numbered them in the photo. #1 is one of the original non-LED 921 base bulbs. #2 is the first LED I mentioned in this thread, not so bright but will be good for general room lighting when coming and going from RV at night, or when watching TV. #3, over the kitchen sink, are a couple of the most recent LEDs. Hard to tell in the photo, but these are two flat panel style of lights, each has 20 elements and all are facing straight down, so much brighter when below this than the photo shows.Click image for larger version

Cosmik Debris,
Nice post. Thanks for the pictures.
Thanks for everyone that has contributed to this thread.
There's such a wide range of options and prices.
Make sense that a combination of options posted here can be utilized in a way to meet specific needs, reduce your power consumption and get the most bang for your buck.

Best regards,
Doug

So, had reason to drag the 5th wheel to town and back, one mile each way on dirt road and the lights stayed seated and were fine. If someone wants bright LEDs, swivel base, and don't mind the cost, these are winners.

Seems these might do the trick for those areas you don't need the really bright stuff; same family as Cosmik Debris posted but less bright:
