Contemplating which method

My old PUP was very easy to winterize. Just hooked up my WH by-pass and hand pumped the AF through the lines. Easy peezy. Now that cold weather is upon us, I'm ready to do this monster of a TT. Was just wondering, should I use the on-board pump and do it that way or do you think the hand pump will suffice? The electric pump is hidden away and may be a little tight getting to, but I think I can reach it. It's ALOT bigger than the pop-up and I'm thinking I may wear my arm out hand pumping it through. BTW, I still have my hand pump.

I would use the on board pump, you want to make sure antifreeze is in the pump anyway. The hose and valves should be accessible.

What a pleasure having the antifreeze bypass!

My old trailer required pouring 3.5 gallons into the FW tank and charging the system (after installing the water heater bypass pipe) with anti-freeze.

Another improvement in 32 years!

I used 2.5 gallons and the whole system is full of anti-freeze. Plus all 3 tanks and the P-traps!

Especially if you never used the pump!

Get the lubricants moved around. Flex the rubber.

I would use the pump, makes quick work of it. Just make sure to tap the check valve at the hose inlet. Just take out the filter hose washer at use a screw driver to depress it.

I just connect the air compressor to the hose inlet, and blowout the lines first, then use the pump to fill her up.

Performed my first winterization ever with the TT. I was nervous about blowing air through the lines. But the adapter was $2.50 at wally world and I just made sure the pressure never went above 40. DW was inside chasing faucets. It was so easy! The onboard bypass for the water pump was also super easy to use. Totally accessable under the sink, plenty of hose.

We camp alot late in the season with our off-road POPUP camper and the best choice for us is to drain the low water points and use the BLOW-OUT method using our 12VDC tankless portable air compressor.. Only takes a few minutes and then we get back into using the water tank etc the next morning by just adding water again...
