Converter fan running

I have my x19h plugged into a 110 outlet in my garage... I have it plugged in just to maintain the battery. Is there a reason my converter fan is running constantly?

Yes. Its working. It converts 110v AC to 12v DC.

Ok.. So this is normal? Will it hurt to keep it plugged in or should I just plug it in periodically to maintain battery?

Mine is plugged in all the time while in storage. Even all winter.

Does your fan run a lot?

That fan really bothered me when we first got our TT, especially at night when all was quiet and it was all I could hear. The more DC amps the TT pulled, the more fan would spin and the louder it got. I replaced all my incandescent bulb to LEDs to minimize the draw the lights put on the converter and fan run much slower now.

I have a 2001 Kiwi 23b.

As has been mentioned, my converter gets louder with load. Before I replaced the interior lamps with LED's the converter would ramp up as lights were turned on. Now not so much.

When everything is off except charging the battery my converter is very quiet. I leave my trailer plugged in 24/7. the battery has not boiled out. While plugged in and charging the voltage reads around 13.5 volts with a digital meter.

When only maintaining a battery charge, once topped up I wouldn't expect the converter fan to run constantly. That said, I'm not familiar with your converter.

Is the battery old? Do you have some 12 volt load turned on which is a bit heavy? Is the trailer brake emergency breakaway cable switch pulled out?
