Update: I had my first son 3 weeks ago, so I haven't had a chance to update this issue.

All damage was repaired under warranty to higher-than-factory standards. A new piece of diamond plate was ordered and installed by lifting the aluminum sheeting immediately above it and under-lapping the aluminum diamond plate at least 1/2" under it, and it was screwed in all around and sealed up. Great job all around, and done just the way I would have done it.

The technician actually said "I hope we never have to take it off, because it would be a pain in the a$$" I said "That's good, that's precisely what I wanted".

I also had a small abrasion hole in the slide-out roof. The technician took off the trim pieces for the top corners and overlapped Eternabond over the front and rear top corners all the way from the wall of the trailer to the wall of the slideout, applied sealant and replaced the trim strips. That's the job I would have done if I were doing it myself outside of a warranty claim, so I couldn't be happier.

Got a roof and wall seal inspection on record for future warranty purposes and picked up my trailer last week. It's been in my driveway getting some small mods, and I'm taking it back to storage today or tomorrow just waiting on our next big adventure!

A big shout out goes to Crestview RV Superstore in Selma, TX for doing a FANTASTIC job and exceeding all my expectations!

CB, Foremost, congratulations to you and your wife on the birth of your son. Secondly, glad to hear the trailer repair exceeded your expectations. Thirdly, welcome back to the Forum, your insights were missed.

It's nice to be missed!

I missed it here too! Hopefully I'll be able to participate a bit more now that things are getting settled down some...

Congrats on the baby boy!! I too am a first time father to a baby girl last week! Although we wont be camping anytime soon, I am looking forward to our first outing next spring...

Did they manage to put that additional light in for you?

Congrats on the girl! There must have been something in the water! I know about a dozen people who just had babies!

Good catch on the light! I asked them to bid the job for me, and they came back with $90 or so. It would have been a nice addition, but I wasn't willing to spend that much. If I decide to do it in the future, I'll just piggy-back off the light that's already down there, and it'll probably cost me about $15 (most of the cost will be the new fixture). It won't be quite as clean, but there are plenty of places to hide a wire down there, and since I use LEDs, I'm not worried about overloading the current hardware.

Glad you got it fixed to your specs and CONGRATS on the boy! My daughter just turned 2 and our son is due mid December. Babies are a ton of work, but holy cow are they worth every last bit of effort!

My in-laws borrowed my camper shortly before my daughter was born, then immediately went out and bought a new camper. They picked up their camper mid November 2012 and had to go out and get a trip in before winter. Our daughter's first camping trip was with them, 5 weeks old in cold late fall weather in Lancaster, PA. Gotta indoctrinate them EARLY!!!

First off, congrats on your first son!! That's awesome!

Secondly...Crestview RV has been a pleasant surprise for me to deal with. It's where I picked up our trailer from and they have been the best to deal with and work with! Rare in this business from what I gather on this and other forums!

Finally, glad the repair work was to your standards! Can't ask for more than to have something repaired like you would have done it!

Won't be long before it's time to head out with the baby boy and start enjoying that Jayco again!
