Electric. Fireplace will not turn on

I can not seem to turn on the fireplace in my 33 RLDS. All the fuses look good and everything else electrical seems to be working. Is there a separate switch or something that needs to be turned on.

Thanks. In advance.

Yeah, you can either have the fireplace on or the electric water heater on. The switch under the cabinet selects one or the other. The crack head tech didn't explain that one on our walkthrough either..

We can use the fireplace and electric water heater in our trailer. It is a 50 amp though.

If you have the 50amp then your trailer is also prewired for the second AC option that mounts over the bedroom.

Interesting thread. We have a 50 amp 5th wheeler also. Our fireplace works with a remote. Do you think there is a switch also to operate the fireplace in case the remote fails? Never have noticed an unused switch and I think we have found them all. Most of the dealers have never seen these new units when they come to them either and I have found they really don't know where are lot of stuff is or how it works. They have to experiment with the new equipment just like we do.

There should be manual buttons to operate the fireplace in the upper right corner of the fireplace just above the glass. What brand and model is your fireplace?

Is your electric fireplace starting to come on and then shuts off immediately? If so I had this problem a few months ago. There is a high temp sensor in the electric heating unit that would shut the fireplace down immediately after turning it on. It apparently had clogged up with something which I couldn't see when I removed it. I just blew it out air compressed air, reinstalled it and it worked fine.

If you go to the manufacturer's web site they have very detailed instructions on how to remove the heating element.

Yes mine did not mention the separate switch either.....he just turned it on with the remote and told me to take off the plastic before using the heat on the fireplace. The fireplace does work well and heats the living room up rather well.

Mine also has the toggle switches in the upper right side of the unit that operates the fireplace manually.
