Fireplace in EagleHT 28.5 RSTS

Factory forgot to install fireplace. Will it be a problem to use it with 30 amp service? Thanks

On our 2017 27.5 RLTS, the fireplace definitely works with 30a service.

We have the same model as you. We also have a fireplace. However we have 50 amp as an option. We could have had the fireplace with 30 amp as well. With the 50 amp option we were prewired for a second ac unit. The other difference with 50 amp is that it eliminated an "either o"r switch located by the thermostat on the pantry that makes you select using the electric water heater or the fireplace, but not both simultaneously.

We often use ours when we only have 30a service. It draws no more current than a small portable heater.

How did they forget to install the fireplace? It like forgetting to install the stove or the fridge.

Were you able to use fireplace and water heater together without blowing fuse?

It depends on if you have that "either or" switch. I believe it was labeled water heater/fireplace on the unit I saw on a dealer lot that I ordered from. They may have changed things up since I saw it. If there is no switch then I would say you're good to go.

I have a friend with a 5th wheel H/T with the fireplace option. They brought it up to my place for their first trip. Went to use the fire place and it would not come on. I started looking around and found another switch in the kitchen hidden away labled fireplace/hw heater that was set on hw heater. Flipped the switch and the fireplace came on. Guess you can't use both at the same time on 30 am service, at least in that model.
