Fresh water tank Modification

Good morning,

I'm looking for help on finishing my water pump installation. Before, I had a 3/8 hose into my 5 gallon tank and then another line directly to the hand pump. I now have 1/2" ID line and it no longer fits the old barbs or even opening on the tank.

I have everything hooked up except the water tank. The water tank I have has a larger threaded opening for filling, probably 1.5 or 2". I'd like to do something similar to how the smaller line was once connected. I've searched from plumbing shops and some camper parts stores and am coming up empty handed.

I'd like to run a line from the pump inlet to the top of my water tank. Then a separate connection inside the tank from the top down to the bottom for suction. If you shop new tanks, most come with a setup like this, but I can't find just the parts needed to modify my cap.

As you can see from the old feed line, it was pretty simple design. I just can't find anything to work with a 1/2" ID line.

I guess I could use a bulkhead and 2 threaded barbs. But since my tanks are only 5 gal each, is there anything similar to what I had before, or any type of quick disconnect adapters so that when I needed to change tanks, I wouldn't need a wrench?

I would use rubber grommets to insert the hose. You don't want the tanks to be airtight otherwise you'll create a vacuum lock in the tanks.
