Fridge / HW / Furnace Not Working

Hello,

I've searched the forums extensively to try and find the solution to my issue, but could not.

I recently just de-winterized my 2009 Jayco Jayflight 19' pull type travel trailer. For the winter I took out the batteries, and after re-installing I noticed my battery / water level indicator wasn't working. I then plugged in to my generator and noticed the hot water heater wasn't working. And then I tried the furnace / AC, no good. And finally no lights on the fridge. Or radio.

Now at home I metered the breakers, and have 120V on all of them. I checked the GFCI on the coutner, still good as are all the plugs. Finally I metered the fridge plug, and there is 120V to there. I didn't measure the furnace or hot water yet but I expect the same result

I'm at a loss so any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

It sounds like there may be several issues.
No 12V? (furnace, fridge and radio) that could be the converter has failed
A deeper AC problem - since you are getting AC at some outlets but not all.
Is your water heater electric/gas?

Gotta start somewhere, Did you re-connect the battery correctly?

I would also check the 30Amp fuse next to the battery. Our dealer mentioned that nothing will work if this is blown.

It certainly sounds like a problem with your battery. Either hooked up wrong, blown fuse or ground wire problem.

All those items use 12V for their controls. Check that both black wires in your battery compartment are connected to the "+" terminal. One of the black wires is to charge the battery from the inverter, the other supplies 12 volts to your 12V circuits. The white wire should be connected to the "-" terminal on the battery.

With your voltmeter set for DC, check the voltage across the terminals of your batteries. It should read 12-13 volts DC.

Then check the fuses on the two black wires in the battery compartment. I've had issues with the fuse holders corroding and not making good contact with the legs of the fuse.

Those checks should solve your problem.

I originally saw a post about batteries being hooked up backwards, but thought who would actually do that. Turns out I did that.

I also pulled every fuse but forgot the 30A ones. Turns out they were blown. When I went to put new ones it sparked and then I double checked my batteries...

Everything is working now except the radio, but I'm not too concerned about that.

Thanks so much for all the help everyone!

Pull the radio. You'll find it has its own fuse on the back or on the wires.

I have mentioned this before on another thread. Coincidentally, my good friend who lives across the street has a 09 Jayco Jay Flight. He had an issue similar to yours. Last year when he de winterized and re installed his batteries, he connected them wrong at first. That's when his problems started. Identical to what you are describing. He went all summer like that.
A few months back he let me crawl around to see if I could find anything.

Assuming all your fuses and breakers are working properly. Remove the entire panel where the fuses and breakers are. When you pull it out you will notice the wires/wiring harness connected. Follow that harness inside and you will see the converter. On one side of the converter there are a couple of 30AMP fuses. Check them. I would be willing to bet one or both of them are blown.
