Getting rid of Mud Dauber nests

When we picked up our 5er, the PDI technician told us to put a dog flea coller in the furnace and water heater compartments in order to keep wasps out. It seems that there is something in the collar that repells wasps. We wrapped them around a wire or pipe, away from any open flame and so far, not one wasp nest to be found! Before we got the Jayco, out old fiver constantly had Mud Dauber nests in both water heater and furnace compartments. Thanks Harper Camperland of Great Bend, Kansas!

Mud Daubers are a mixed blessing. They can be voracious exterminators of spiders....another PIA

We have never had the problem but it is nice to know there is a cure if the problem comes up. Our Montana did have a screen on the furnace and water heater exhaust.
