Hot water heater switch

Quick question, I have a 2009 31RKS that has gas/electric water heater. Is there a switch on the water heater that needs to be turned on for the electric to heat the water?

It depends on the manufacturer. Some have a black switch with a clip in them for winterizing so you cannot turn them on while empty. It is on the outside of the unit behind the service panel. If that does not work check the resets.

We have an Atwood heater. I plan on searching for the owners manual online once I get the model number. This may help answer the question.

be sure to check the circuit breaker panel to be sure that the breaker is on... when they have these on the lot, i heard they throw the breaker to the hot water heater to keep folks from turning on the electric heat, and burning up the element in an empty tank...
