I used a Blue Hawk shut-off one time and the valve leaked. Never had a problem with a Shark Bite. You can get them at Home Depot or Ace Hardware.
That being said, as long as you have the Blue Hawk, you may as well use it. Good luck with your repair!

I got it installed. Word of warning for anyone, I did have one problem. My lines would have been too short, if I had cut back further, cut back at least 1/4" back past the pinch clip. My cutter caught just a little bit of the nipple from the old fitting while cutting the pipe and ruined the blade. The other side of the pipe looked like crap when I cut it, but its holding with no leaks. They really are an easy install.
It would be a lot easier if I had hobbit hands to work in these tight spaces.
