LED Dimmer

I know it's been talked about multiple times. Has anyone put in this type of dimmer for their LED awning light? It is a pulse wave modulation dimmer.

No. I've been looking at them. I would also like to hear from anyone who has done it.

One of the things I found lacking is that while these RV's come with LED's throughout and the LED for the awning, I say poor form to the manufacturers. All of them. I have not heard of one who doesn't do it.
That is, the step light, the outside front light (for those that have it, and I am not talking about the light on the power jack), the back street side outside light and the oven light are still all incandescent bulb lights.

One of the first things I did was to change over all these lights to LED. So my question is: Would I still have to isolate the step light if the step light is also an LED?

Where can you buy a dimmer like that one?

One of my main motivations is to isolate the step light from the awning light. I figured out which wires goes to the the step and the awning light last night. My question now is the hookup of the dimmer switch. Red wire +12V, White wire light, black wire ground. Connect ground to other side of light. See the attached image. How do I find the ground.

This one wouldn't work in my situation (as a direct replacement in the control center) without chasing down a bunch of wire. The switch in the control center doesn't connect directly to the light, it goes to the panel first. A PWM dimmer needs to be wired directly to the light, you can't use the common ground that is attached to the back of the switch in the control center.

So I went with the one from Amazon. While it doesn't look quite as neat as this one, it works.

I haven't installed the Amazon Remote Control one yet... it's on my list of ToDos this season but it was discussed on this forum, or possibly another one. I'll try to find it.

Sorry... I didn't read closely enough. Looks like some functions on the remote worked, but not the dimmer. Is it possible these lights can't be dimmed?

I wired it in up by the awning support. The wires for the lights go into the trailer at the same place as the power awning wiring. I did a write-up about it, and so did another member (that's where I got the idea). I'll see if I can find it and link it.

Most LEDs can be dimmed because of PWM. Pulse Width Modulation basically turns the lights on and off rapidly at different rates too fast for the human eye to perceive as anything more than dimming the lights. A higher frequency of "off" time creates a dimmer look, while a higher frequency of "on" time creates a brighter effect.

Here are a couple discussions on different installation strategies.

http://www.jaycoowners.com/forums/f3...ing-29789.html

I did a variation on Filthy-Beast's install in this thread. My shrink wrap was too small to fit over the dimmer module though, so mine looks totally sloppy compared to his. One day when I'm bored, I'll take the electrical tape off and put a proper shrink wrap sleeve on there, but it works the way it is even if it doesn't look pretty.

So I ordered the dimmer with the the remote off Amazon. Looks like the wires enter the trailer inside the front wardrobe. Naturally there is no access panel. Do you think Jayco could tell me how the wires are run?

I recently bought that dimmer/remote and while it does work with the lights I want to use, I get a hum on any setting but full (%100) on or off. It does work and not hum with my LED strip lights (the kind on double sided tape). Not sure what I'm going to do now, I guess the strip lights would throw enough light, just not what I wanted originally.
