Lippert Ground Control TT
I just saw an article that announced that FR will now be offering this option on a couple of their ultra lite models and from a conversation I had with a Jayco rep a few months back, Jayco is looking at this as well.
Forest River Trailers Offer Lippert Ground Control | RV Business
I know there are numerous posts about issues with Lippert auto leveling systems but others think they work great. Would this be something that would interest anyone in the travel trailer group?
For me, if I had 3 grand or so to toss down the rabbit hole, I might consider it. But alas, I don't have that kind of moolah that isn't already spoken for and if I did, I would probably spend it at the casino!!!

Watched the video.
Won't be adding THAT to any TT I own. Not until the frame is equal to a motorhome's.
There just isn't enough strength in the frame to lift the axels in order to level the frame from the points they are proposing.
How many TT pretzels are going to be created before that sucker gets recalled? Then the lawsuits for the damaged TT frames. Place your bets now.
I do kind of like the smarts in the tongue jack. Having it return to the unhitching height automatically and safely stowing itself are nice conveniences. If those could be incorporated into the control system of a tongue jack for an additional $75, they'd really have something.

Yes, something else what can go wrong. Soon everyone has to take an RV mechanic onboard while travelling. Or take an extensive RV mechanic course. What about the fun it is to putter around the RV to get things set up? Next will be a ROBOT who will take the partner and kids out camping, so you don't have to take time of from work to have all the gadgets in an over priced RV. Don't fool yourself that the quality of RV's gets better.
Not even the quality of your own life as all the gadgets don't give you the needed exercise.
Basic simplicity will last and you also have nothing to boast about. So let the comments rip............

I agree, especially on the longest and heaviest of the TT's like the Eagle's. I also didn't like the fact that the tongue jack is not used to stabilize the trailer after leveling has occurred. Those front jacks just didn't seem to be up to such a task by themselves. Seems to me that I saw a previous video a few months back where they were actually using 2 tongue jacks attached to the sides of the A frame up front instead of those "stabilizer" looking things they have now.
As for the automated jack by itself, that would be nice "IF" it actually worked reliably. Using that word in the same sentence as Lippert is just asking for it!

If the Lippert Ground control for TT is anything like the system for F/W leveling Buyer beware! It amazes me that LCI has any creditability left after Ground Control 2.0 and 3.0 for F/W leveling, on top of that the melt down on Trailer sway control debacle.

Actually, I had a chance to think about a semi-automatic tongue jack. Not a good idea at all. It would need several memorized settings:
1) Default height for TT when it is on level on level ground
2) Height for latch/unlatch of the WDH bars*
3) Last unhitch height (who determines the setting?)
4) Fully retracted (hardware limit switch)
Now have that function properly after being rain-soaked, overheated from sunshine, survive sub-freezing temperatures for months at a time. Nah! I'll use my own eyes and ears to operate the thing.
-------
*Having part of the tongue weight on the jack while the latch is closed on the ball makes hooking up or undoing the WDH bars a pleasure!

I have seen other official announcements by other manufacturers in regards to offering the new Lippert Ground Control TT system, but I haven't found anything in regards to Jayco offering it.
However, I was just poking around on the Jayco website for our model that is STILL on order (330RSTS) and it appears that Jayco is now not only offering an "Electric Auto Leveling System" but the Sani-con turbo waste system as well on their Eagle TT's.
The pricing for each is 1642.00 for the auto leveling system and 487.00 for the Turbo-con.
I have heard good and bad about the Turbo-con, but since I already have a FloJet portable setup that I use when we need to pump out to a blue boy, I really have no interest in that. But I do have at least some curiosity about the leveling system and associated specs as well as the possibility of adding it later on or if it needs to be installed at the factory.
I have emailed Jayco to see if I can get some more information on the leveling system.

321 leveling and Sami con
I have a new eagle 321. And the leveling system and Sami con are the two things that are working correctly The leveling system could b a little more "user friendly" but if u follow the directions posted on the door and let it do its thing it works great. The Sami con install d by jayco is built in and has its own storage compartment. It also has the big hose by pass if u don't want to use it. Works good only complaint the installers didn't tighten the clamp screws tight enough. A screw driver twist and that was fixed. Very easy to use

I just watched the video here: http://www.lci1.com/ground-control-tt#video
I'm a gadget guy. While I scoffed a bit when I read the intro that, and I quote: "
It’s a long and difficult process to get an RV level with manual jacks, chocks and wedges." I must admit after watching the video I literally said out loud 'that's pretty cool!'
I lucked out on my 2015 32BHDS, because it came off the lot with the "elite" package which at the time included power stabilizers. I love my power stabilizers.
I would definitely get that ground control system, not because leveling is hard or a long process, but because I'm glamping, and given the option, I would prefer to drink a beer than level the trailer.

Mike, I'm not sure I agree with the idea an 8" steel channel frame will ever turn into a pretzel.
How much strength is "in" the frame?
