Lippert rear stabilizer motor...really $300?
I've determined that my rear stabilizer motor has locked up. I get voltage at switch and after the relay. I hookd motor directly to battery with no response.

Looked up part on web and that simple motor is $300. Amazing.

Contact Lippert and ask for a replacement, use a hand crank, use a cordless drill and deep socket, rebuild the motor and seal it against moisture?

I would also contact Klauber Machine & Gear in Pacific, MO to see if they rebuild the motors, it may be cheaper to buy a new one but its worth a call.

A couple of times my rear stab would not deploy. It wanted to run but couldn't get moving. I used the crank to get it to move and then all was good. It sounds like this is not your prob as mine would "grunt" as it tried to move and you report yours is just dead.

I didn't realize Klaub was close to me in Missouri. I did find the post on the moisture and I plan to check that out tomorrow.
To hand crank I'll have to make a connector to match.

After exhausting my retail repair options, I took the motor apart. It is the model that Lippert was buying from across the ocean. As suspected it was full of moisture but not seized up. I cleaned out with wd40 and used Emory cloth on the brushes and magnets. It appears to be good as new. I used gasket sealer before I assembled. I'll go to the Eagle tomorrow to try it out.

Did it work?
I always figured when my Lippert stabs give up the ghost, I'll just replace them with the manual scissor type jacks and use my screw gun for deployment. That would be faster anyway; those stabs take FOREVER to deploy.

No...didn't worn. It was really clean though. I'm going to take the motor to a shop this week and have them make a bite or my drill.

Mine used to do nothing occasionally when I pressed the switch. A sharp rap with my fist would make it work. I haven't taken it apart to see what the issue is but it hasn't done it for a while now.

I figured out this weekend that a .99 screwdriver will lower the rear landing gear. Takes a few minutes but I was surprised at how easy it was to draw them tight when extended. Saved $$$

Somewhere I have posted in the past about these motors. The rubber grommet where the power cable goes into the motor will deteriorate over time and that is where the moisture can get in.
I cleaned mine up and sealed it with some liquid black tape. Solved the problem.

You have a dead spot in your motor, it's been a while cause you haven't found or stopped on that spot again.
Grab the output shaft while you have power to it, do you feel resistance? If you do you have electrically siezed it, meaning it's shorted out, no matter how clean you get it, it will not come alive again

My LR jack motor puked out on me today. Trailer went in for warranty work and that was added to the list. It has the Ground Control 2.0 system. I am missing the simplicity of my previous TT.

I cleaned mine up with no success. My brother-in-law took it apart and found one of the brush springs had rusted apart from the moisture. He replaced the spring and it runs like a champ now! Now to seal it up and reinstall.

Gear set in Lippert 138445 destroyed
While raising my rear stabilizers they got about 6” off the ground and stopped. The motor was still working, but the shaft wasn’t turning. I cranked them up manually and brought the camper home. Expecting to see a sheer pin, I took the cover off the front of the Lippert 138445 to find this, gears destroyed, metal gear broken in half. The search began, only to find out from Lippert and Klauber (manufacturer) that there are no parts or refurbishment options. This motor/RV is two years old, probably used the stabilizer jacks 15-20 times. New motor - $350-$420. More research found an alternate - same part much cheaper; Alfateers 9094286775, still not “cheap” but better at $197. I say I’m amazed at the lack of support for these parts, but I’m not really, cheap crap.

I didn’t mention that I also had to replace the propane regulator the same weekend, started venting out the bottom. These things are cheap!
