Mounted satelite tv antennae ladder mount

We just mounted our Winegard satellite antennae mount on the ladder- The literature says it is permissible to leave the dish mounted while in transit but I am leery of this arrangement for obvious reasons- Are there any out there with experience in this area? At this time, I intend to remove the dish for travel but I am open to your opinions- The total weight is 20 lbs, so that of itself should not be a problem as I routinely climb the ladder to sweep off the slide roofs prior to retracting them- The dish is not any higher than the roof mounted ac- Your opinions and experiences PLEASE- DD

Been doing it for years.

Actually have an in motion that we used on the MH, now have it working in the FW so the boss can DVR her daytime shows while traveling. Did some rewiring and the Sat Box runs off the fridge inverter.

The problem with any fixed mount is getting a clear view to the satalites, A portable is a much more versital option that allows you to set it just about anywhere on your site giving you access to many more campsites.
