Unhappy New Precept check engine light!

Delivered new Precept last week. Was fine on way home. Packed and turned the key. LIght came on. ford said it was "numerous codes". Communication problem". The said they "reprogrammed it" after it was in the shop all week
Took it home today. 2 miles from house light came back on. Back to Ford. They said they will look at it next Wed! Have no idea what is wrong with it. Our vacation is trashed. How do we find someone who knows what to fix?

not good. Unfortunately you need a Ford dealership, in particular a dealership that works on heavy duty, trucks.

I would find out what the codes are. it maybe something very minor, and you can still make your trip.

Since it is a new MH with a Ford chassis don't know where else to go. Went to the one that handles big trucks

It's possible the problem could be as simple as a "dirty connection" between the ECM and TCM; fixed by disconnecting and reconnecting--but maybe a faulty bus, or sensor(s).

Good luck getting the repairs done and keep in mind that if it is warranty work there's not really any other option for having it repaired.

Just went through this on our new Greyhawk29MV. A week at Ford dealer and they found screws run into gas tank vapor duct causing check engine light and gas cap light. Just an idea....

I have seen obdII dongles , like the ones you can get from insurance companies that you plug into the odbII port of your vehicle , set all kinds of communication codes. This is just an fyi in case you are using something like that. We service a fleet of Fords with GPS tracking units that are hooked up to the obdII plug and they constantly set codes caused by that unit. Have also diagnosed one that was caused by the progressive insurance dongle.

GRR Update: Lost 2 weeks of vacation.

Camper was 5 days old for us when we turned it on and check engine light went on. They reset computer and then it came on after driving it 15 miles. After that it had intermittent low power driving it back to dealership
Now it's been 1 1/2 weeks at dealership that services big Ford trucks and they still can't figure it out. There are multiple codes all at the same time. Maybe we need a new computer in the unit???

Going to lose a lot of $$$ on a nonrefundable 2 month camping reservation
Haven't even taken one trip and I'm wishing I had my old camper back and could ditch this one.

Update on repair

It was a couple of weeks in the shop The Ford place didn't know how to take the dog house off and the guys with experience were off for the holidays. We were 2 1/2 weeks late leaving on our trip but they found the problem. Actually there were 2 problems. The first one was that they just had to reset something. On the way home from the dealership it started to crawl and back we went. This tie it was a bum coil on the spark plug.
All is fixed and we are LOVING our RV!
Thanks for advice all. Don't know how to remove sad face as I'm smiling now
