Seems like you should have tested this out before you went boondocking.

This was the test run.

It is still weird. Like said before, the power inverter should have nothing to do with DC.

Why everything works now with it shut off is a mystery.

Check the 12 volt fuses to see if any are blown. Check your battery connections to make sure they are correct the White wire for the battery is the ground wire. Also check the 30 amp fuse at the battery to see if it is blown.

Before this have you ever had the RV plugged into a 50 amp service at a campground? If so did everything work correctly?

I had the 50 amp service plugged into shore power at my RV park and everything worked fine.

If you feel comfortable enough to take the cover off the panel (kill the generator first) post a nice clear picture of the inside.
And have a little look around and see if anything looks strange to you.

Then what is happening now is related to the hook up to the generator or the adaptors you are using. But you do need 12 volts to run the refrigerator and furnace.

All the DC fused checked out fine. I was pretty sure they would since everything works now. The lights, refrigerator, the blower for the air conditioner, lights, water pump, and the electric water heater.

I checked the ground on the battery and it is hooked up and tight, as are the battery connections.

I just moved so I am limited on tools. Most of my stuff is in storage still.

But I ran continuity checks on all DC fuses.

I will reserve pulling the panel and checking all the wiring when I get home.

Thanks for all the help. At least my fix works. Not sure why.

No. I did not have time. PI suggested I do not hard wire it in, but get some adapters so I can remove it when on generator power, as it is now.

Keep in mind you aren't charging your battery right now.

Not a problem while running off the generator.

That is even weirder. I checked the battery level and it was at 3/4 full, and now that everything is working, it reads FULL.

Yeah, I know, impossible.

P.S. Maybe the breaker is wired backwards?

Thanks guys for all the suggestions.

I am going to sign off. I do not want to use up all my data on my phone.

I will sign in again and let you know what I find if I decide to crack open the breaker panel. I doubt I will without more proper tools.

Greatly appreciated all the help.

Most breakers are bi-directional.

I agree this is really weird!

But your lights, radio, furnace, fridge, fans, and Furrion stereo are running on your non charging battery

Just the opposite. He has the disconnect off so the battery is isolated.

At least that is my understanding.

He shut off the converter and turned the disconnect on

And most likely, because he has a disconnect, (and you for that matter) the progressive dynamics converter panel is wired to keep charging the battery while the disconnect is off.

That's one reason why I wanted to see a picture of his converter insides.

Without knowing what amount of power you are drawing I would try and keep it down while on the generator so that you don't trip the Circuit Breaker on the Generator.

Have a good night and keep the forum posted.
