Partially because to Canada those "RV Thermostats" cost between $130 and $300, and IMO look cheap.

Instead, locally I can pick up a good household digital thermostat for less than $30 that looks better and has a much nicer display.

For a little more I can even get one that will automatically switch between Heat and Cool, or for around $60 even a programmable one.

The only thing missing is the high/low fan setting, but honestly I've never used anything but low, so I think I would hardwire that.

Knowing that the thermostat in my TT controls the fan speed in the A/C unit, allows for Fan Only operation, controls the heater from the same setting and can be set to OFF....

I haven't seen those features on home thermostats.

I used the following home thermostat and it works great. $38 Canadian

https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Keep in mind my thermostat only controls my furnace. On or off. No fan speed or air conditioning to control. My AC controls are manual and on the roof.

$30 for a Honeywell thermostat, $2.50 for a switch at Radio Shack. 1 hour of internet research and 1 hour installation time. Fully programmable thermostat with heat, cold, fan etc. Coleman and the RV industry should be ashamed of the junk they offer today.

I tried the Honeywell RTH111B1016 thermostat and the case had almost zero room for the micro toggle switch. Are there any Radio Shacks still open that carry electronic supplies?

I bought this on Amazon for $45 a few weeks back and it works great. I was also looking at getting a 24v wifi T-stat but it really doesn't make sense. I plan on leaving my air on all the time since I am not paying the elec bill at the cg.
