Plastic bag over mirrors?
Newbie question here.
I've noticed at some campsites that some Class A and Class C campers put little plastic bags over their side-view mirrors while parked. What it the purpose in this?
I would guess to keep sun/heat from reflecting back into the cabin (but hopefully you would have a curtain or cover anyway, so I don't really get it..)...??

Prevent condensation or rain causing spots on the mirror?

Probably to prevent the UV from breaking down the paint finish, similar to tire covers.

Maybe to prevent birds from landing there?

Protects the finish... also stops glare from when the sun is at just the right angle.. My camping buddy has a 40' Tiffin and does this every time he stops for more than a day...

A lot of those covers have holiday motifs and also serve as decoration.

It's so the bears won't see themselves and trash your camp site

simillar reason why they use those windshield wiper covers/booties, to protect them from UV damage and I would also think to keep the reflection back off the RV living area when set-up.

It keeps birds from going nuts on your mirrors. Last time I was camping, I had one bird who just couldn't get enough of himself. I had to fold the mirrors in to get him to leave.

Bingo!!
I couldn't figure out why I had bird droppings all along my TV's driver/passenger window sills, doors, and the tops of my mirrors until I caught a few small birds (barn swallows?) having a field day with my mirrors and the mirrior reflection on the door window glass
Walmart plastic bags did the trick!

I do this on my TV even when it's at home. It prevents wasp from building their nest in the mirror housing.
