Plumbing connector thread size?

I am debating on moving my water filter setup (RVWaterFilterStore) from just setting outside under the trailer, to inside under the bathroom sink where everything comes into the trailer.

It looks like it would be fairly simple to do with the right connectors/adapters, but I am unsure what size/thread those would be to go from the factory connections to a garden hose connection and back again.

Does anyone know what adapter/connector would be needed to accomplish this? Link?

TIA

J

From my vast experience (two travel trailers), I've found the bulk of the threaded fittings in the plumbing system to be 1/2" NPT. Though plenty of others abound.

Best possible course of action is to take the RV out of service and then tear in where you want to tie in. Take the filter and the pieces you pulled out to the home center and buy what'll actually work.

Up front guessing (no matter how educated) still includes buying parts in the middle of the job with the system out of service the whole time.

Save some aggravation: Lock-out the system under modification and put the road trip to buy the correct pieces where it only needs to be done once.

One suggestion I learned from my mod is to take the trouble to build in a bypass system similar to the one on a water heater so when time comes to winterize or change the filter, you can do it with minimum disruption to the water flow itself.

Thanks for the suggestion Norty. A bypass is now sketched into my diagrams!

I have heard that some new campers have come equipped with a new method of bypassing the water heater using 2-3way valves instead of 3 - 2 way valves.

It might make the piping a little less of a burden.
