power to tv while ignition is on

Hello, we have a 2013 Melbourne 28F with a 32"front TV which the grandkids love. There is only one problem, everything works great until they buckle up and we get ready to head down the road, the TV shuts off when I start the ignition. Does anyone know if the plug the TV is using can be connected to the inverter or how I would get a wiring diagram for this model.

thanks

Sounds like a safety "feature" to me...guess they dont want the driver to watch TV while going down the road....lol....

I would give Jayco a quick call and see what they have to say, there may be a way to bypass that feature. Please let us know.

Terry, talked to Jayco and they concured it was a safety feature (although the tv is 2 feet behind the driver) they are not willing to give any instructions on rewiring it.

Contct Jayco and ask for the wiring diagram. As long as the TV is behind the driver, you can look over the wiring diagram and make any necessary modifications.

Mustang65, I contacted Jayco and because the RV is under warranty they will not send me a wiring diagram.

Rick,
That is interesting. I asked and received the ones for my 2013 284BHS. I received one for the 120VAC wiring and one for the 12VDC wiring. I did not call them, I sent them an email indicating that on any TT I purchase I get the wiring diagrams for future trouble shooting purposes, and believe me they really DO come in handy. Wait a few days and email them at service@jayco.com indicating that you want the diagrams for trouble shooting electrical problems. Ask for the 120VAC and 12DC diagrams.

Don, thanks..I will try e-mailing them, I wondered about their reason because the response was from the same individual that told me the reason for the TV not working while driving was the same one that replied about the warranty being the reason they could not supply wiring diagrams.
