PowerMax - 50 Amp Auto Power Transfer Switch?

Quick question...

Does anyone currently have one of these 50 Amp Auto Power Transfer Switchs installed in their TT? Power Max PMTS 50 Auto Power Transfer Switch. The price is right and I was thinking of taking my manual cut over to an automatic system (now that is getting lazy). $107 seems like a pretty good price for the 50 amp unit to me... I believe the 30 amp unit was around $80, but I prefer a little more amperage capabilities built in.

Can be used for either generator or shore power according to the mfr

If you don't have a built in geny why do you need the transfer switch? It is just a safety so the geny doesn't back feed into the shore power cable.

Hey Grumpy...
In my case it for switching between Inverter (SOLAR/Battery) to Shore Power. While traveling the TT's power center is plugged into the inverter (SOLAR) source outlet. When we arrive at a CC that provides Shore Power, I plug the TT control center into the Shore Power source outlet. See picture below. This Auto transfer switch will get me to a nice cool one faster and not have to even think about it any more. OK, I'm getting lazy.

That makes sense and sounds like a plan. I didn't realize you were getting 110 from your solar system since many only use it for 12 volt without the inverter.

The TT's SOLAR system is still 12volts, but currently I run mostly off of the inverter 75% of the time, so it will automatically shut the inverter down and connect the TT to shore power when connected.

Always trying to take the human element out of the process. One more thing I hope I can forget about....

They do have Micro inverters that mount directly onto the backside of each solar panel and takes that panel's 30VDC output and converts it to 240VAC, but that would be a real complicated set up for a TT and you would need a lot of panels to make that worthwhile. That is what I am getting ready to install at home 3Kw worth of panels (phase 1). Tired of paying money to the power company :-(
