Pump has lost some pressure

In our 2016 fifth wheel the pump doesn't have the same pressure as when we got it. In the shower it used to squirt the water forward pretty good but now it goes straight down. The kitchen faucet does sprinkles instead of spray when switched to that setting. The pump seems louder and will also run 5-10 seconds after turning the faucet off which it used to only take a second.

Anything to check or does it sound like the pump is going bad already? The water system is still usable but just doesn't have the pressure it used to and showers are more difficult. I hooked up to city water and the shower and kitchen faucet work much better (and like they used to with the pump).

Could be trash in the filter. There should be a simple screen filter between the tank and pump. If you had "junk" like plastic shavings, etc. in the pump from manufacturing, then it may have accumulated over time in the filter, making the pump work extra hard to pull water from the tank. It's about 4 inch round plastic thing with a clear cover. You unscrew the cover and there is a screen wire filter in there to clean out.

OR, if you've run the pump dry for too long at some point, I've seen the rubber impellers in pumps melt slightly - and they no longer pump well. They are replaceable but you have to pull the pump out, disassemble it and order parts.

It could also be a kinked hose. Check the plumbing around the water pump area. My MH came with a hose that was too long and kinked on the corner. It took a while to become a problem and I'm suspecting the hose had to get warm before it kinked.

This kink could be anywhere but in my rig it was in the area where the water pump and switching valves were. It was very obviously kinked and slowed the water coming from the tank to a trickle.

Pump output should be minimal 40 PSI and kicks out at 45 PSI. You can check this with a gauge. City water has higher pressure and means higher flow. Showerheads can be cleaned with vinegar for better flow.
