Questions about CAT scale procedures

CAT Scale has an informative page on their site about http://catscale.com/how-to-weigh how-to-weigh.

My TV and single axle TT (x17Z) are pretty much what they have illustrated on that page for the RV.

Do you have to go back through and disconnect to get tongue weight?

Can you put each side of the TT on the scale separetly for side-to-side measurements? Or, is that overdoing it?

How much does it cost?

We took our TV & TT to the CAT scale just down the highway last year. I thought I was well within my limits and the weighing verified it. That's one less thing that I have to spend time worrying about.

The procedure (for me) was 3 passes over the scale. The guy said I had to drive off and back on between weighings. So went over with the TT and WD bars set up. Pulled off, disconnected the bars and made another pass. Third pass I unhooked and just drove the TV over.
The weight pads were sized right for our combination (we have dual axles on the TT). I didn't think to do a side-side weighing and don't think I could have as there was a barrier on both sides of the scales. Different scale layout, maybe you could. Make a pass from both directions with one side on the scale at a time.
Overdoing? Dunno, I haven't worried about it but I recall seeing posts where folks have measured all 4 wheels of the TT to insure ballance.
Cost? It doesn't matter. But I know you want the real answer: 1st pass was $9.50 and the last two were $1.00 each.
I stopped at the cashier first to tell him I was weighing a travel trailer and would make 3 passes. I guess he doesn't see too many TT'ers weighing because while making up my weigh tickets he asked what my cargo was. "Two people, a dachshund and some beer", I tell him.

Thanks for the information about CAT Scale s, RedHorse1. Our dachshund passed over the Rainbow Bridge many years ago, but your comment brought back a fond memory. We were setting up a campsite for a 5 day stay when our dachshund saw a mouse in a wood pile at the back of our site. She spent the rest of the 5 days trying to dig the mouse out.

I will tell you on the CAT scale I used, I could not get separate weights for the axles on my pickup, by the time the front axle was on the first pad, the 17Z was already on the second These things are definitely not made for us little guys. It's weird how the rates vary, it cost me $10 for the first weigh and $2 for a reweigh.

Be sure to update on what you find out, haven't got much response from others who have weighed theirs.

As mentioned, it depends on the scale layout and would require two additional passes over the scale.

In cases where one finds them-self with a loaded TT weight at the TT's specified GVWR, then it may add another layer of comfort to know the side-to-side weights to insure that tire weight ratings haven't been exceeded. Side-to-side weights can very with floorplans, and slide locations.
