Question Radio comes on in camper when garage door opener is used???

We are new to the TT world graduating from backpacking, cross country mc -camping, pop-up to our new x18d. We live in a rural area so our hybrid is parked in our barn. I have noticed on several occasions that the radio is on. I know it's not us being forgetful. I have narrowed it down to the garage door opener.
Any thoughts on how to solve this other than putting in an inline switch to cut the power completely?

Some garage door openers can be re-coded. Try doing a web search for "Re-Coding (insert you brand opener) Garage Door Opener".

EXAMPLE: Re-Coding Geini Garage Door Opener

Just a thought, do you have the alarm set on the radio?

I would continue to research. I cant imagine that a garage door opener would cause that. Maybe if it were right on top of the radio, but you are 20 feet away in your vehicle. That is an odd one indeed!

Agree with Terry. If the power to the radio is turned off at the unit, can't see how garage door opener could turn power on. JMHO

Our radio (Jensen AWM970 ) would turn itself on randomly. I made sure the alarm wasn't set and tried removing all power for a reset but it still wanted to fire up on its own. Our first couple of outings I would turn it off 2-3 times per night. It seemed to want to access its USB port when it turned itself on even tho nothing was plugged in there. It was repleced under warranty and we've had no further problems.

Once we had ours turn on in the middle of the night, it scared my DW so she could not go back to sleep.

Two thoughts;

Could your remote be placed in a spot where it is turning the radio on/off, due to something like the heat is expanding/contracting something in the remote or touching it?

Could you be having some kind of power fluctuations that is making the stereo turn on/off.

As for the garage door remote verses the radio remote. They typically work off of two totally different technologies. The garage door opener usually uses a radio frequency, and the radio remote usually is an IR (need to be in the line of sight). You could cover the input sensor on the radio with a post-it note or a piece of dark tape, to see if it still is turning on. If so, then you might be forgetting to turn it off, your Spouse or kids might be playing a joke on you, or the radio has a glitch. My radio has a default time of 12:00 AM, try changing the alarm time to something time when you will be in the TT and ensure it is off. If it does not do it right away, set your alarm clock on your phone to go off a few minutes earlier and step out to the TT and see what happens when the default alarm time comes and pasts. Does it turn on even though the alarm is turn off?

I can say for sure the kids and DW have/are not playing tricks. Although funny.
I have not played with the alarm, we took delivery in July and used it most of the summer without incident. I was not until I parked it in the barn, close enough to the garage door openers that we tripped over the radio incident. I was getting the unit ready for winterizing over a couple of days. Powered distribution disconnected and we heard the radio. Turned it off and found it back on several times. I currently have the power to radio disconnected to eliminate the reoccurrence. I will look into the potential that some alarm was setting was accidentally activated by one of my electronically savvy kids. There is no remote with unit, it is the standard Jensen that comes stock with the unit.
Thanks.

You do not state what year TT you have, nor what radio model you have. But you say “New” so I will guess you have a 2012 TT. All of the hybrids that I saw when looking for ours had the same Jensen radio in them. If you have of the bigger Jansen Radio’s that is connected to the tv, that will let you movie on the tv, I would bet you have a remote in some bag in some location in the TT. It is small!

I am not sure if this is the model I have, but it is very close to it. Look at the specifications tab for the Jensen radio

The TT is a 2012 x18D, the tow vehicle is a 2011 f150 sc eccoboost with max tow
there is no mention anywhere in the Manuel of a remote for the radio, nor do I see an audio connection at the tv site, just antenna, power and booster.
I'll check out the alarm function to see if that might have been overlooked.
Thanks for all the places to consider, I'll back track through the scenarios to see if one solves this. We do a fair amount of off grid camping and I don't want this to add to the load on the battery.
