a wire connection twisting the wire together Come on at least it had tape around the wires .. ,and a area that most people will never see ???

That is kind of sad. Are you the original owner? If not maybe the previous owner is the "master electrician".

I know for a fact on the new Jaycos they use the clip on type wire taps for the tail lights. I know this because I replaced a broken tail light from a previous hail storm the night before another hail storm came through and wrote off my trailer.

I'm willing to bet that wasn't factory work. At least I hope not...

I just traded my 2009 Eagle in October. I was very disappointed with the workmanship from the factory. I had a 2007 Jayflight that was far above the 2009 when it came to workmanship. The jury is still out on my 2015 Eagle.

I may be taking a wild guess at this, but here it goes. I live about an hour away from the factory. I do alot of HVAC work in Middlebury and the surrounding area. Back in 2007 through 2010 when the economy was not very good, Jayco laid off a large precentage of the workers there. i know their service department was reduced by 60%.

As a result of understaffing maybe quality suffered? Just a guess. there are still quality problems today, some minor and some are major.

I still believe the wiring connection issue in the pictures above was done by the previous owner. The excess wiring maybe came from the factory, but I find it hard to imagine that it left the factory with just tape on the connections.

Then again, my new 24FBS was missing a hose clamp on the water pump hose from the fresh water tank causing it to suck air.

Anything is possible!

I agree with you 100% on this issue. For one thing it takes to long to twist and tape the wires together and it takes two hands just for the roll of tape. Not something that would be done in fast production work.

As much as I hate to say it, could be a dealer repair. I had one where the "TECH" and I use that term loosely, just twisted, no wire nut, a pair of 110 grounds (bare copper) together. Needless to say I "E" mailed the service manager a picture after I found and fixed it.

In any event, it's fortunate this is only a 12V circuit, and not any wiring pertaining to 110 VAC, you hope?

If they cut corners in this work, how assured can one be with anything else?
