Replacement of Black Water Sewer Valve

I have a 1999 Jayco Eagle 31' Class C motorhome 313H. The black water sewer valve is a remote valve and is near the center of the camper near the rear. It is behind the control panel where the valve operators are, the outside shower and the sewer hose is stored. The valve does not operate and can be opened but doesn't close completely. Does anyone have any idea how to replace this valve? I'm thinking the best way is to cut a hole under the bed. Thanks, Meyer123

You should be able to access this under the unit. I am not sure what you mean by a remote valve. It sounds like the valve is sticking and not closing all the way, or that the gasket has deteriorated and allowing black water to bypass it. Buy a new valve, drain the tank and rinse it well. Then be prepared to have black water drip on you. Slide under and remove the old valve and install the new valve in its place. It is easy to replace the valve. There are also valves that you put at the end of your drain pipe so you don't have to replace the old valve.

Thanks. but the the valve is a remote which means it is Cable Actuated Waste Valve and is internal to the motorhome along with the tank. there is no excess from under the motorhome that I know of. I need to look closer and see if there is a removal panel on the bottom of the motorhome, I never thought to look.

I installed a cable valve for my grey water tank. Hopefully you can gain access without having to cut into anything. Unfortunately, some maintenance is best left to a qualified rv tech- IMHO, your repair is definately one of them- JMHO- DD
