Replacing a Bergman Breakaway on a Starcraft 13RT

HAs anyone preformed this before? I am going to do mine as my old switch broke. I am wondering about wiring. Anyone have any input or suggestions?

Assuming that Bergman is a brand, replacing the break away switch should be pretty easy. I replaced mine on two different campers. You can buy a complete switch assembly from Napa auto parts. Simply look to see how yours is mounted (mine had one screw holding it to the frame, from the rear of the switch so it could swivel) and buy the same type. Remove the old by disconnecting the shore power, and battery. One of the wires should go to the positive battery connection, and the other should run the frame or into the wire harness for the trailer light connector. Cut the wire that goes to the trailer harness from the switch and leave enough for you to strip so back. Now both wires should be free. Remove the old switch and mount the new one. Install an eye-let connector on one of the wires (if marked, use the one that says + or batt +). The other wire can be connected to the wire you cut. I like to use water proof solder type butt connectors for that connection. Reinstall battery and test.
