Replacing damaged lower siding trim

Recently we had a tire blow on our Jayco Jayflight G2 29 FBS and it caused damage to the lower trim panel (dark grey panel) behind the rear tire. I contacted the dealer to order a replacement panel and I was told they sell it by the foot for approximately $7 per foot. Then I proceeded to ask how much work it takes to replace that panel. They told me that it is a pretty complicated replacement and recommended I bring it in for repair. I am just wondering if anyone has actually performed this repair or could give me some insight on how to remove and replace this panel. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures to post but to be more specific it is the dark grey trim panel at the bottom of the siding on my slide out right behind the left rear tire. It appears this piece is secured under the bottom siding panel.

I had one of my front panels destroyed by a blowout. Dealer was to make total repairs (under warranty) as it took out several different things. He only put on the trim panel.

They did not replace the filler between the finish piece and frame. I called them and got "So sorry, bring it in and we will finish it." Well i looked at the old piece and figured to save $$$ on fuel and reinstalled after flatting it back to shape. Next time i will do the whole job myself.
