Replacing electrical outlet (110V)

I've just replaced an outlet (single plug to a double plug) and am looking for additional info. The receptacle is apparently a "speed plug", instead of screw down connections for the wires there are punch down connectors. Push the wire into a V-shaped connector that cuts thru the insulation. So my question is "how"? I managed to make the connection using pliers but the result is not at all "pretty".
The push on back looks like it is designed to seat the wires as you push it onto the mating piece. Tried but wasn't able to make any headway. A massive amount of force would be needed.
Any experience with using this type of connection?

My .02 is get rid of it and install the standard screw on inlet. As a matter of fact I changed out all of mine and put black ones in. Think it looks better against the wood.

I may be wrong, but somewhere in the back of my mind I think I read that there is a special tool used to push the wires into the V-shaped connector.

Rick, you da man! That's a heck of a tool. I really appreciate you clearing the fog, I figured there was a gizmo to do it.
To everyone else that responded; yup, I think that's the deal. Was afraid there wouldn't be enough room, but there is (experience is a great teacher). I've got a couple of others that I want to replace and will go the screw-down route if space allows.

So why these outlets instead of a residential type? Cost? Speed of install? Just different? Grrrrrrr!!!!

From what I remember, they're not as deep as regular J box, outlet combos. Some of the spaces they put the outlets may not have the room. Also, if you have the tools and experience, those outlets could go in pretty quick.
