Shade repairs

Does anyone know if it's possible to repair the window covers ? We bought out jayco used and both window coverings in the master are broken. The string has come out. I haven't taken much time to look at them yet but would like them fixed.

I have one that's about to break. Amazon has the string I just need to get a battery for my digital micrometer to measure it as seems to be a few different diameters. It looks easy enough to change out once you get the string..

I replaced all of mine with Levolor blinds. I was not about to try to restring those shades only to have it happen again!

I assume you travel with them lowered. Do you install a hold-down for the lower end or just let 'em flop?
We have 1 in the kitchen window but it's so small I doubt it moves much while travelling. Not really sure what I'm worried about with blinds, inquiring minds and all that jazz I guess.

We have out trailer parked permanently in a park. I actually found some good information on youtube on how to it. Looks fairly straightforward

For the ones in the kitchen, next time you're at your big box home improvement center, just pick up a pair of hold-downs. They're like a buck and a half. I wasn't so much concerned about them moving around in transit (though they probably move more than you think) but about them clanging around when we're walking around the trailer when it's not stabilized. Cheap fix and only took about 3 minutes to install, and I just can't figure why they don't install them at the factory...

Yes, I travel with them lowered. Yes, I added the hold-downs. I also added a pair for the blind over the sink that Jayco failed to supply. An item such as that tends to cut into their profit margin too deeply.
