Sirius Radio install

We're subscribers to Sirius Radio and I am thinking of putting a "dock" into the camper and have a question for those who have.

Where to put the antenna?

There's all sorts of different antenna's available, and my initial thought is to use the regular car type magnetic mount and double stick tape it to the top of the TV antenna, then run the wire into the camper in the same general area as the TV antenna wire is run? Of course like everything else fishing the wire through the ceiling and walls would be the challenge.

So where have you mounted the Sirius / XM antenna?

I haven't installed Sirius in my TV but if I were going to, your idea sounds like a good approach. In our TT, the antenna is only about 6 feet away from the entertainment area so it might not be too bad to snake a cable between those two spots in the overhead.

I have the "Ghetto Blaster" that accepts the head unit from my truck... stuck it on the rear shelf with museum putty... it has not moved in 2 years... I just open the rear window and string the antenna out and to the roof top.. then when I move pull it down..

I installed a mount and hard wired a power cord for my Sirius. I was checking around for antennas and by accident found a great solution. Until I installed an antenna on the roof of my camper I had run the cable for a magnetic car antenna to the door. When towing, I put the antenna on the shelf above the rear bed. I had planned on putting the antenna on the roof when camping. One day I turned the radio on before I put the antenna outside. To my surprise there were 3 bars (full signal) with the antenna inside the trailer. I put the antenna on the roof and only had 1 bar. I put the antenna back inside and after a few minutes I had 3 bars again. Now I don't put the antenna outside, I put it on the shelf and leave it there. The wiring for the running lights is behind the "wall" at the back of the shelf. I am guessing the wiring is "collection" the signal. If anyone knows the mechanics of why I get a stronger signal inside I would like to know for sure.

Now that is very interesting, I haven't purchased anything yet but I might just try this.

As part of my Sirius subscription is internet radio and we have the apps installed on our phones (Droid and iPhone). The Jensen radio has a front input jack, so I put a patch cable between the phone and the radio and was listening to Sirius (and my other music that I have stored on the device) So looks like I'm not going to put up any antenna, going to use what we currently have available.
