Solar Panel "Issue"

Maybe I should be asking this in a solar forum, but I'll give it a try here anyway.

Just found out I have a mouse problem. My panel is mounted on the roof of my "generator shed", located next to the trailer. We have a permanent site setup. We found a huge mouse nest under the panel. It took a leaf blower and some sticks to clear it out.

Naturally, I'm concerned about the critters chewing on the wires. As a temporary solution I blocked the opening with some wood slats and rubber gasket material.

I believe that the mouse problem is gone now, but is there a problem with sealing off the back of the panel? Does it need to be ventilated?

Airflow is usually needed to help cool the panel. The hotter the panel the less efficient it is.

2x

You can take 1/4" chicken wire and secure it to the SOLAR panel frame and the roof to keep the mice out and allow for air flow.
