Question Suspension lift kit

Has anyone installed the optional 2" lift for their Jayco? It requirs 2 axles and a cross member. I have a 29Y with low ground clearence, and, am debating on the suspension kit. TKU

Some folks that I know that have particular Jay Feather models that offered the 2" lift kit as an option either wish they had purchased it, or did purchase it. Depending on where you camp, that extra 2" can sure save damage to the low hanging dump plumbing.

Sorry, I wasn't clear. I was questioning why they included axles at all. I would think all that would be needed would be new spring perches to be welded on locally and new u-bolts.

I would like to talk to someone who has had the kit installed. I'd like to shop for the best price, and, would like to know what's involved. I hate the low ground clearence. I know they have longer Norco hangers, and, the down angle is 45mm, instead of 22.5mm. Thanks

My sister had a '05' Jay Feather 29N, and the 2" kit that I'm referring to is the one that Jayco offered as an option (from the factory) on particular models that had the "Torsion Axle" suspension..., not a leaf spring axle. I'm not sure if the Jayco 2" Torsion Axle lift kit can be added "after-the-fact".

I'm assuming that you are referring to the 29Y Torsion Axle suspension and I have not run across an aftermarket riser kit for these (not to say there aren't any). Also, you can't flip a Torsion Axle suspension. Here are some pics of a Torsion Axle lift, but the owner designed/machined his own: http://www.picturetrail.com/sfx/album/view/23102394

Dexter Axle does market what they call "Over/Under conversion kits for their leaf spring axles: http://www.dexteraxle.com/over_under_conversion_kits

Hope this helps a little.

Bob

They do offer the kit, but, it's about 1500.00, and, you get 2 axles and a cross member. I have an '06 29Y with the torsion axles. I'm just trying to save as much as I can. I would have included it as an option, but, I bought it from a friend. Seems like 1500 plus labor is a little high. Thanks for the help. Garry

Any luck

Any luck finding a solution?

I've got an '07 29Y. Love the trailer but it really is very low. I've bottomed out a couple of times pulling into uneven parking lots.

Can't justify spending $1500.00. I'm in the process of looking for a used kit. Thanks, Garry
