Telescoping Extention Ladder
My TT doesn't have the backers under the skin to have a factory roof ladder installed so I'm looking into purchasing a telescoping extention ladder like the ones sold at Camping World and was curious to know if anyone on this site has any experience with them both goor or bad.Any thoughts are welcome. http://www.campingworld.com/shopping...n-ladder/69451

I've carried one long before they became popular (since 2001) and expensive, got mine at SAMS for just around $100. Works great and has been borrowed many times at a Rally.

I have one....it was bought for me as a gift about 10 years ago.
Keep it clean (no grit or mud), don't put it away wet and be careful not to ding or bend it. Other than that, it's a great specialty tool.

Umm..... Before you decide on the one from amazon, read the reviews. I don't think they're the same ladders, JMO.
The first 2 reviews would have me concerned, especially since I weigh 250 lbs+.....

Amazon has several different models. This one would solve the weight concern.

I am 250lbs myself and I have gone up and down the ladder many times with no failures. The more vertical the ladder is the more secure it feels the climb. Also, if you don't need the full 12.5' that too helps the feeling of the ladder.
That said I have fully extended the ladder and climbed up many times. Although there was flex in the ladder it has held. I wouldn't want this ladder if I was using it daily at its full reach, but for us to sweep of the slide and occasionally check the roof it has been great.

The only time I'll need this ladder is at the campground before I close my slides so I'm sure this ladder will be more than sufficient.

I bought this one from Amazon and it works great. Unfortunately, the TT i bought it for I traded it in after 1 season. The new TT has a mounted ladder.

Warning.... Those ones like shown on the Amazon page that have the step lock on the side.. dont always lock in place. Mine showed Green all the way up but when I went to step on the roof it started to collapse.. Darn lucky I did not get hurt or stranded on the roof..

That could have been a bad situation. I think I'll look into the brands more before making my purchase. Thanks
