Tire recommendations?

Looking for replacement tire recommendations for a 2014 351RSTS. 15500 gvwr and 7k axles. I am aware of the ongoing St vs Lt debate. Probably gonna default to the Lt tire.

Suggestions?

I just put G614s on mine last week. Luv um. Maxxis would be my second choice.

Maxxis tires all the way for me. Check the reviews, you won't find much if anything negative on them.

Just changed to Maxxis. A friend of mine works for a tire distributor in Louisiana. They have never had a Maxxis tire returned for any reason... But the Michelin LTX are probably just as good.

G614 if your wheels are rated for 110 psi. Fortunately mine are. The peace of mind with "G" rated tires is worth every penny to me.

My fifth wheel in one year old now. I've been thinking about which direction I will go when it comes time to buy tires. I've considered the LT option, but I don't think it will work for me.

The tires on my trailer are ST235/80R16. These tires are rated for 3420 pounds each. The dry weight of my trailer from the factory is about 12,000 pounds, and the pin weight is 2400 pounds. That leaves 9600 pounds on the tires. After all of my crap is loaded in the trailer, that number goes up.

The two LT tire sizes that could be considered for my trailer are LT215/85R16 and LT235/85R16. They are rated for 2680 and 3042 pounds, respectively. The 215 would surely be overloaded from the beginning, and the margins on the 235 would be razor thin, if not overloaded.

So I believe I am stuck with the ST trailer tires on my camper.

etex211, Call Jayco and find out which rim is on your rig, then call the rim manufacture and get the actual rating of the rims. Mine were Tredit rims and Tredit told me they were 80psi rims. So I went with Maxxis 10 ply 80psi tires.
If your rims are 110psi you can go with G614.

However, you might consider the Maxxis M8008 10 ply 16 inch tire, it's a good tire.

What ever make is available to me in the ST 205/75R15 range. Probably go fro C to D just to have more reserve. With RV's I have been very lucky (keep my fingers crossed) keep the tires up to snuff and replace them on time. Do not hit curbs when cornering etc. Had my blowouts with utility trailers usual overloading...........and some times with being in a hurry. Now I have less time in a day and not in a hurry but keep the speed at 100 or down to what is allowed.

Just a quick update. I pulled the trigger on a set of 4 Goodyear G614 RST. Good news is the rims on my unit were rated for 110 psi. Bad news is I just dropped $1835.00.

I should be set for a while now....At least that is what I told mother.....

That's what I did also. I'm running mine at 100psi. So far love them.

I'm very happy with my G614's. The price is high, but it is what it is. Safety and reliability is very important to me.

Any comments on Goodyear Marathons? I just put a set of them on a friend's enclosed cargo trailer and they seemed pretty good.

I have had nothing but bad luck with Marathons over 2 years old.

When I changed mine this past summer, there was a sticker on the inside of the wheel stating the maximum air pressure, so you may be able to find it that way too. The tag on my 15" wheels said 75psi, but I went with a load range E (80psi) Commodore (I know...). Before I set them to 80psi, I did talk with a tire dealer I trust and he said I wouldn't have any trouble setting them to 80. So far so good.

They're fine for a cargo trailer.
