USB Power Cord for a Furrion Backup Camera

I hate with a passion the cigarette lighter power cord gizmos. I have a Furrion Observation/Backup camera and I'd like to have a USB cord for it. I've tried google without much luck, same for ebay, here is the search term with model number.

power cord usb Furrion FOS48TAPK-BL

It's a common RCA, I think connector, I'm a machinist and can measure this to a nats behind, but I'm a bit out of my league on this.

Best,
Steve

I too have the Furrion Observation setup in my new Pinnacle, and like you hate cigarette lighter adapters/power cords. My monitor uses a 3.5mm x 1.35mm barrel jack. I found a cord on Amazon, but the standard voltage of a USB jack is only 5 volts, not enough to power the monitor. I have not checked the output voltage of the USB ports in my truck though, if they are in fact 12 volts here is the link.

If you can find the correct plug size and stay well under two amps, you can use something like this - https://www.amazon.com/KUNCAN-Conver...rds=usb+to+12v

Kind of a waste of power as the truck converts 12V to 5 and this device converts USB back to 12V.

This can be hard-wired in to 12V - https://www.amazon.com/Haolei-3-5x1-...3.5mm+x+1.35mm

I found a solution to power my Furrion using the USB port. Purchased one of these off eBay:

I also purchased these to get the proper sized barrel connector, didn't want to ruin my cigarette lighter just in case:

Some shrink tubing and carefully stripping the small wires and soldering them I have eliminated the bulky cigarette lighter!

USB ports are 5 volts. Monitor is 12 volts. If you want to power the monitor in your camper, you could purchase a 12volt 1 amp wall wart with the correct barrel plug. Using the monitor in your TV, cigarette lighter or you could hard wire the mating barrel connector to a switched 12 volt source.

In the "For What it is Worth" Department I purchased one of these from Amazon; https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Confirmed the correct polarity (Center Positive) ran it down the drivers side "A" Pillar and connected it to the #3 Ford Up-fitter switch (10amp)
Works perfectly, no more ugly cigarette lighter adapter.

I just acquired a prototype USB to 12v with a 3.5 x 1.35mm connector for the Furrion backup camera monitor. It has commercial ends, has been tested, and does work with the monitor. I am looking for someone to cover the $12.00 development cost and test how it works over time.
