USB video input for Jenson amw970

Hello everyone.....has anyone had any luck finding the right video format to play video from USB on the Jensen stereo unit. Who really wants to carry a bunch of dvd's for the kids anymore. I have not had consistent results and tried divx,wma QuickTime etc. some seem to play and some not (I have not ever been able to code one that worked).

Hey Bunkhouse, according to the operation manual on The Jensen website, the USB port is music playback only, not video, unless I am reading it wrong.

I have been able to get some play in the past.

i can play video in an AVI format through the USB input on my Jensen. i haven't been able to get anything i've tried to convert to play. i have tried "cuda" and "pazera" without success. my laptop has adobe premiere, i'll play around with that when i get some time.

Why not just plug the usb cable right into the TV?

My tv won't play video from a usb flashdrive, my Jensen will. Using it as a media player would mean one less thing to bring along. A 16gb flashdrive can hold 4 seasons worth of a television series. I currently watch shows this way using an xbox360 as the media player.
