Does anyone notice a different taste in the filtered water? We live in Colorado and have chlorinated water. When I run either house water or state parks campground through two different filters we get a terrible taste. New filters in both set ups.

Welcome to the forum.

We use 3 filters in a series: First a Camco 40043, then a Pentek CBC-10 Carbon Block Filter Cartridge, 0.5 Micron, and finally a Pentek 155319-03 Ws-10 10" Water Softening Cartridge(not really a 'filter'). We only use water from our FW tank that has passed through these 3 filters (or our FW tanks were filled from our house softwater).

Most filters, like the Camco, remove sand etc. The Carbon Block Filter is the one that removes chlorine and bad tastes. If you are going to drink the water from campgrounds, investigate using better water filtration.

We never connect to the 'city' water connection. We use water from our FW tanks for EVERYTHING; drinking, bathing, etc. The flow rate for the 2 Penteck filters is really too low for comfortable showers when using the 'city' connection.

We traveled about 8,000 miles last year and our water tasted consistently fine. The softener filter made washing and showering feel almost like home.

Both with a hose and a filter, I always flush a few gallons through them before connecting to the htt, to flush out any icky stuff.

Also what are you using for a hose. Some hoses are rated for potable water, they typically leave no taste. Regular garden hoses, can leave a foul taste.

this work great , it filters all your water, if the water has a rotten egg smell use a carbon block filter instead of the sediment filter

Thanks for all of the ideas. There are as many of these as there are variations in coaches.
Another question - we are not first time owners of RVs but in the owners manual for out 2016 5th wheel (RSTS28.5) it says not to tow with water in the FW tank as it could syphon off during travel. I know that water adds weight but has anyone had problems of any other kind when traveling with FW from home? We never did in our truck pop up, motorhome or truck overhead.
