Water heater help
Hi,just picked up my new rig,tested everything,all ok.
We are having freezing temps for the next few days.i wanted to blow out the water lines,pulled the water heater plug out to drain,nothing came out.baffled.i had the low point drain valves open but in previous units I always had to pull the plug to drain the hot water heater any insite on this.
At the pdi we filled hot water heater all worked good.
I had 3 units prior to this one and always have to pull plug on water heater to drain.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Did the dealership re-winterize after the PDI? If so, perhaps they turned the by-pass valves on the water heater again.

... but I'm baffled, too, regarding your water heater.

Low Point drains are capable of draining the WH. It takes a LONG time, but it does happen. So if you opened your LP drains and walked away for a while, the WH will empty.
Before anyone says "that can't happen", I've proven it on my own trailer, so I know it CAN happen.

I made sure it wasn't in bypass after the pdi.

I did leave the low point drains open overnight.I'm hoping that what happened.

I learned with my 2007 Octane that I didn't need to pull the plug on the water heater as the low point drain always emptied the WH too. So I'm not surprised that when you pulled the plug you had nothing to drain. I wouldn't say this is the case on all systems but more often then not low point drains will drain the WH.

Agreed. Not necessarily on all systems, but definitely some systems.

My low point drains also drain the water heater.. I stopped pulling the plug a long time ago.. I crack open the pressure relief valve to help it drain faster...
