Once we are set up do we turn on the water pump and leave it on all the time? We are newbies so this is all new and we want to do things right.

X2 on sanitizing the water system.
Without water hookup at the camp site, where do you plan to fill your tanks? Do you have a water bandit/cheater if there are no threads to connect your water hose?
Yes, you can leave the pump on. The pump will cycle on and off when you use the water.
Is a good practice to turn your water off (pump or at the spigot) when you leave the trailer for a while. Although rare, if something leaks or bursts, it's better if you are there. We plan to shut ours off every time we leave for a while. We remember about 85% of the time.
