What size generator?
I have a 2016 Jayco 28BHBE. 1 AC unit and all LED lighting with 42" TV.
What size generator do I need?

Depends on what you want to do. Everything accept the A/C? Honda 2000 would be just fine. If you want to run A/C at least a 3000. There are mods you can do, to possibly run the A/C with a 2000 but there are several variables, elevation being a big one. 3000 would be worry free.

Any drawbacks to getting a Champion vs Honda. I can't justify dropping that much for a Honda

Nah, other then noise. If your alone in the woods, who cares? Hide it behind a tree with a longer extension cord.....so you can hear your movie!

It's hard to tell from the photo, but the largest middle plug appears to be an RV 30 amp. Worst case you will need an adapter like this one

Your RV appears to have the same electrical needs as mine, so I'm assuming you have 30amp service. You have 50amp if your trailer plug has 4 prongs.

One other factor when looking at generators is "wet weight"...., especially if it will be loaded/unloaded from the back of a pickup frequently by yourself.

I have 2 Yamaha 2000 generators and when I need the AC I run both in parallel. If you do not need the AC, one 2000 is enough.

Greg that is a LOUD generator.. No one will want to camp within a mile of you... Champion does make an inverter style like Honda for about 25% less than a Honda..

Please not another generator thread!!!! There is in fact no dumb question, but this question has been discussed in no less than 3 recent threads and dozens going back a year or so. Do a search on generators to tap into these past recommendations.
Quick summary: Honda and Yams 2000 are reliable, relatively light and quiet but cost more. Others are acclaimed by some as just as good and cheaper. Its like arguing politics, people have different opinions.
2000's everything but AC and 3000s for Ac. Twin 2000s are good for everything but again are more costly.

A lot of people have the following - Champion 2800wt Running / 3000wt Peak Digital Inverter Gas Generator, Carb & EPA Certified, Low Decibels
I have it as well. I had the 2k Honda but it wouldn't run the 15k AC. Every 3 months or so, Costco will have it for $699. I ran my buddies right next to my Honda and the two were nearly identical for sound. More money than the one you are looking at, but so much quieter. As the person before me said, run some searches on the site - there are plenty.

As others stated, minimum 3000 watts to run a 13.5K AC. Hopefully someone will chime in that has a 15K AC that 3000 watts is enough.
I have a Champion 3500/4000 watt generator. We bought that to power things out the house when the electric goes out. My wife had some medical issues during a pregnancy, power went out and she couldn't power her medical equipment. Had to go to a hotel for 2 days... spending hundreds of dollars. Immediately after that, we bought the Champion for about $300 from Tractor Supply. Other neighbors have loud contractor style gensets, so we weren't worried about the noise.
For camping... ESPECIALLY around others... get the quietest one you can afford. They will all be loud and annoying, but the quieter they are the less likely someone will destroy it in the middle of the night!
I love my Champion, its well made and starts easy every time. If they made the invertor style at the time I bought mine, I might have bought that instead.

Actually the Yamaha 2400iSHC generator will run a 13.5K AC....., runs my 13.5K just fine.
