When to Use Water Pump?

Is the water pump only for use when dry camping and accessing water from the fresh water tank?

What happens if you turn the water pump on when connected to city water?

Thank you!

I only use mine when water hookup is not available. If you turn the water pump on while hooked to city water and no water is in your tank the pump will run continuosly and pump nothing. If there is water in your tank, it will pressurize and stop, but really no need to turn it on while hooked up to water unless there is a power outage and you have water in your tank.

I work with Campers on Mission building churches etc. When on building site, we may have 5-10 RV's hooked up with a series of "Y" fittings to one fawcet. When we all quit work for the day and head to the shower, you may or may not have sufficent water pressure. We all keep water in our tanks , hooked up to the water supply and our pumps turned on. That way, when multiple people are using water, the pump supplements the shore water to keep the pressue up.
